TOWN OF CATHLAMET

The Town of Cathlamet is a municipality that is governed by six elected officials which consist of the Mayor and five council members.
The Mayor is the chief executive and administrative officer of the Town in charge of carrying out the policies set by the Town council and seeing that all local laws are enforced. The Mayor has the authority to appoint a clerk, marshal, town attorney, and public works director. Other position may also be appointed as desired, by ordinance.
The Council is the legislative authority of the Town and has the power to enact laws and policies, consistent with state law. The Town establishes and maintains a municipal code, implemented by the council in the form of ordinance and resolution.
The Town provides a full range of services, including fire protection, emergency medical services, street maintenance, parks and recreation, public swimming pool and library, as well as general administrative services. The Town also provides water, wastewater and stormwater management.
